Friends of MSF UWO Mapathon

The Friends of MSF team at Western University (UWO) is incredibly excited to organize a Mapathon event, an opportunity for students to make a tangible, real-world humanitarian impact. Participants will learn fundamentals of remote mapping using satellite imagery, and contribute to a collaborative Missing Maps project tracing roads in the Ouaddai province of Chad. Currently, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, also known as Doctors Without Borders) is working to mitigate seasonal peaks of malnutrition and malaria among children, and mapping buildings allows MSF staff along with community partners to respond rapidly to nutrition emergencies and disease outbreaks. We deeply appreciate the vital involvement of student volunteers for the FoMSF Mapathon.
