A mapathon is an oppurtunity for people to come together and create mapping data. It can be based on any subject/area, e.g. a neighbourhood or cycle routes. It is used by organisations like the Missing Maps Project to map out areas in danger of crisis with the aim to reduce risk, decrease rescue time and improve lives!
