Everywhere She Maps workshop 2026 is a three-day programme designed to inspire and empower young women through open mapping, digital skills, mentorship, career conversations, and leadership, while encouraging and strengthening their participation in OpenStreetMap and the broader open mapping community.
The programme will take place from 7–9 October 2026, with two virtual sessions followed by an in-person workshop and mapathon at the University of Education, Winneba, on 9 October.
Objectives:
- Understand the fundamentals of OpenStreetMap and open geospatial data.
- Recognize the link between mapping, gender equity, and community development.
- Draw inspiration from women leaders and changemakers in the geospatial/GIS field.
- identify pathways for continued involvement in YouthMappers and the broader geospatial community.
- Help build capacity for the chapter
