Sudan Solidarity Series
three‑week youth program to help young people learn about Sudan, understand the crisis, and take action to support Sudanese communities.
Weekend 1: Film Screening (Awareness) This first session helps youth see what is happening in Sudan. We will show a Sudan‑related film that gives a visual story of the crisis and the people affected. After the movie, we will have a short group discussion so youth can share their thoughts, feelings, and questions.
Purpose: • Build empathy • Help youth understand the human impact • Create a strong emotional foundation before learning advocacy skills
Weekend 2: Decolonize Sudan Youth Advocacy Training (Learning & Skills) This training teaches youth how to advocate for Sudan in safe and effective ways. It gives simple tools that help young people speak up, organize, and support Sudanese communities.
Youth will learn four basic advocacy skills: • Legal advocacy — understanding rights and how laws affect Sudan • Protest and mobilization — how people organize for change • Art as resistance — using art, writing, and creativity to raise awareness • Community organizing — building long‑term teamwork and support networks
Purpose: • Teach youth how to take informed action • Build confidence and leadership • Connect Sudanese youth and diaspora in meaningful ways
Weekend 3: Map‑A‑Thon (Action) A map‑a‑thon is an easy, hands‑on activity where youth help create digital maps of Sudan using satellite images. These maps help humanitarian groups deliver aid, find safe routes, and support people on the ground.
No experience is needed. It is simple, beginner‑friendly, and meaningful.

By the end of the three weeks, youth will: • Better understand what is happening in Sudan • Feel connected to the people affected • Learn how to advocate in safe and effective ways • Take real action that supports Sudanese communities
