Join OSM Syria and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) for an interactive webinar focused on humanitarian mapping, community collaboration, and open geospatial data within the ReMapping Syria 2025 initiative.
This webinar will bring together community members, volunteers, mappers, and humanitarian actors to discuss the role of collaborative mapping in supporting local communities and strengthening open geographic data for Syria.
The session will highlight project experiences, mapping activities, outreach efforts, community engagement, and lessons learned from organizing mapathons and humanitarian mapping initiatives throughout the project period.
Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in interactive discussions about the future of community-led mapping initiatives and the importance of open data ecosystems in humanitarian response and recovery contexts.
Topics may include: - How to Create an OpenStreetMap account - Project information and project methodology - Open-mapping technologies used - Project accomplishments - Lessons learned - Other information as necessary to Syria
The webinar welcomes participants from Syria and the international mapping community, including students, GIS specialists, humanitarian organizations, volunteers, and anyone interested in open mapping technologies.
