Real-time cartographic improvisations using projected, manipulated digital maps by Eric Theise, in collaboration with Jeffrey Gordon Evans, Hannah Joyce, and Steev Hise, in ever-changing configurations. A visual wash of street grids, land masses, water bodies, and curiosities from built and natural environments. Sounds soothing and screeching. Orphaned labels and free-floating symbology. Auditory roundabouts and acoustic cul-de-sacs. Colors that clash, calm, and fade. Jittery zooms and journeys. Liminal drones. Glitchy artifacts from crowdsourced geographies.
Theise’s performance will occasionally introduce strobing effects that may affect photosensitive viewers.
Jeffrey Gordon Evans & Hannah Joyce (duo), and Steev Hise, will perform opening sets as well.
