Inviting all people of India to attend the OSM India Monthly Online Mapathon!
This is the perfect opportunity...
- for newbies to learn about OSM, how to use it to replace Google
Maps, and to learn remote mapping of roads and buildings from
satellite imagery;
- for intermediate mappers to learn JOSM, public transport routes, and
other advanced topics;
- for advanced mappers to work together and make a bigger impact.
...or to just hang out, observe, and/or chat with other OSM contributors π

How do I join?
Just click the "Attend" button. You will be asked to login with your OpenStreetMap account - create one if you don't have one already.
You should ideally also join the OSM India Jabber/XMPP channel (see below), but it's not required.
What will we be doing?
- 8:00 to 8:15 - Introductions
- 8:15 to 8:30 - New participants learn what OSM is and a simple way of using it.
- Experienced mappers can choose to start editing areas of their choice right away.
- 8:30 to 9:15 - New participants learn how to add points, lines, and areas to OSM.
- 9:15 to 10:45 - New participants continue mapping.
- 10:45 to 11:00 - We conclude the mapathon.
