The Mapathon at FER will be an interactive workshop that provides participants with theoretical and practical knowledge about working with OpenStreetMap (OSM) data. Through a series of short lectures and hands-on activities, participants will learn about mapping principles, methods for collecting and processing geospatial data, and tools that enable effective use of OSM in various applications.

In the first part of the workshop, introductory presentations will cover:

The basic concepts of OpenStreetMap, and ways to contribute to the map.
The use of Tasking Manager, a tool that facilitates organized and collaborative mapping.
Examples of using OSM data in crisis situations.

In the second part of the workshop, participants will apply their newly acquired knowledge through practical exercises with mentor support. They will work on specific mapping tasks, contributing to the OSM database.
