FOSS4G Europe 2025
Mostar, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The Free and Open Source for Geospatial Europe (FOSS4GE) conference is the European branch event of the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) annual conference.
FOSS4G conferences are about software. Yes, but not only. They are a forum to bring together software developers, users, and advocates for FOSS4G to discuss and present over a wide array of topics ranging from state-of-software to specific use cases, from building and sustaining a community to building a business around FOSS4G technology, from software technical details to democratic processes and policy making.
FOSS4G has been the place where you go for the vibe of the Open Source geo-community, where you see the latest developments, find the latest new super library, or hear of that new innovative product or service. It is the place where you meet the people who wrote the books you read in University, who's blogs and social media accounts you follow.
The international conference series started in 2004 under the name FOSS/GRASS User Conference and has been known as FOSS4G since 2006. The European regional branch of the conference dates back to 2012 when the first FOSS4G Central and Eastern Europe (FOSS4G-CEE) was held in Prague, Czechia. Set to take place when the international conference is not in Europe, the European edition has since then visited Bucharest, Romania (2013); Bremen, Germany (2014); Como, Italy (2015); Paris, France(2017); Guimarães, Portugal (2018); and Tartu, Estonia (2024).
In co-operation with Ecoplan d.o.o and University of Mostar, the Local Organizing Committee is very excited to invite you to Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina in July 2024. We are planning for another two days of workshops, three days of talks, and two days of community sprint to top the week of all things free-and-open-source. Oh, and all our favourite networking events will also be there!
