Bratislava - mestská časť Staré Mesto, Region of Bratislava, Slovakia
Institute of Geography, Slovak Academy of Sciences

24th September 2020 17:00 – 20:00

Missing Maps mapathon is a volunteer workshop on which you can vectorize aerial photos into the OpenStreetMap for the humanitarian organization Doctors without Borders. The mapathon outputs then help the medical and logistic teams in the affected areas in various emergency situations.

Mapathon will take place in cooperation with the Young Scientists of the SAS on Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the meeting room of the Geographical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava.

The workshop is open to the general public and admission is free. You need to bring your own laptop and we also recommend a PC mouse for better vectorization of the territory.

The mapping workshop is organized by Amavet 962. Its volunteers from April 2017 until the end of August 2020 organized or actively participated in 32 mapathons (Bratislava 8, Zilina 8, Nitra 4, Presov 4, Brno 4, Zvolen 1, Kosice 1, Prague 1, Nis in Serbia 1).

If you need support or help, please get in touch on info [at] amavet962 [dot] org.
