DESCRIPTION:I (Eric Theise) was accepted into the inaugural cohort of CAST
and was paired with composer Shahrzad Talebi. Line Upon Line Percussion E
nsemble will premiere our collaboration which\, like my *[A Synesthete's A
 tlas](https://erictheise.com/a-synesthete-s-atlas)* project\, uses MapLibr
 e\, OpenStreetMap data via Protomaps\, open-stage-control\, and software o
f my own to create map-based animations.\n\nThis event is free and open to
all.\n\nCAST: Premiere Night is the culminating event of the inaugural CA
ST season\, bringing together the full cohort of international artists sel
ected to create new collaborative works for this special evening. Followin
g a global call for submissions\, the CAST panel chose six composers and s
ix visual artists whose practices represent some of the most compelling di
rections in contemporary sound and visual media. Each composer was paired
with a visual artist to form a collaborative team\, and these pairs have s
pent months developing original works that receive their world premieres a
t this event.\n\nPremiere Night features the debut of six new collaborativ
e works by the following artist teams:\n\n- Stylianos Dimou & Britt Mosele
y (with SoundMap Ensemble)\n\n- Haeun Park & Krista Faist (with SoundMap E
nsemble)\n\n- Rafael Godoi & David Sydiongco (with SoundMap Ensemble)\n\n-
Carolina Carrizo & Jonathan Monaghan (with Line Upon Line)\n\n- Mathis Sa
unier & Shirley Steele (with Line Upon Line)\n\n- Shahrzad Talebi & Eric T
heise (with Line Upon Line)\n\nTogether\, these collaborations highlight t
he artistic vision at the heart of CAST. Premiere Night invites audiences
into an evening of immersive performance\, new artistic possibilities\, an
d the future of contemporary audiovisual work.\nEvent Website: https://dad

DESCRIPTION:Every other week\, OpenStreetMap enthusiasts from across San J
osé and the South Bay meet to share tagging advice\, hatch mapping plans\
, and chat about the project in general. We also dabble in OSM’s sister
 project\, [OpenHistoricalMap](https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenHist
oricalMap).\n\nIf you’re new to the South Bay or OpenStreetMap\, swing b
y at the beginning of the meeting for a friendly introduction. To learn mo
re about South Bay OSM and what we’re currently up to\, [visit our homep
 age](https://github.com/codeforsanjose/OSM-SouthBay/). Stay in touch with
mappers throughout the state by joining the [OSMUS Slack](https://slack.op
 enstreetmap.us/) workspace’s `#local-california` channel.\n\nSouth Bay O
SM is supported by [Open Source San José](https://opensourcesanjose.org/)
(formerly Code for San José)\, which connects coders\, designers\, and o
thers with local civic organizations and government agencies to improve li
fe in the South Bay. For volunteer opportunities\, attend one of OSSJ’s
separate Civic Hack Nights. For details\, join the OSSJ [Discord](https://
